Control Tower 3D: ATC Sim

Built by a 16-year air traffic controller. Just the tower.

The developer spent 16 years working air traffic control and held four different FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) licenses over his career. Control Tower 3D is that job, done honestly: you take the Local Control position, look out the cab window, and work the runway the way a real tower controller does — sequence the arrivals, launch the departures, and above all, keep them separated. Separation rules follow FAA Order JO 7110.65.

Work the position

• Scan the runway before every clearance — a good scan earns the bonus and keeps you clear of incursions.
• Sequence the arrivals: cleared to land number one, number two, number three — with proper spacing on final.
• Work the pattern: extend upwind, extend downwind, turn base. VFR pattern traffic mixed with IFR arrivals.
• Run the options: low approach, touch-and-go, stop-and-go.
• Launch departures: get them airborne before the next arrival crosses the threshold, or it's a separation bust.
• Hear the radio: pilots call up, read back clearances and report the pattern.
• Don't let them meet. Two aircraft in the same place is a very bad day.

• Levels campaign — 8 levels, 25 to 150 operations as traffic builds.
• Today's Shift — one 8-minute shift a day, the same traffic for every controller in the world. Build your streak.
• Day, dusk and night, dynamic weather with approach lighting. Save and resume mid-shift.
• In English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Hindi and Arabic.

Controls

Tap or click an aircraft, then tap a clearance on its card. Keyboard: 1 / 2 / 3 = Cleared to Land #1/#2/#3, B = Turn Base, G = Go Around, C = Continue, T = Cleared for Takeoff, W = Wave Off, P = pause, Esc = deselect.
